短语“in other words”为什么要用other，不用其它的代词?

因为，一般来讲，other 指或代表两个或两者或两个部分当中的另外一个或另外一个部分，即，“两” 个当中，除了一个，另一个就是 other ，即，以 “两个”为基本范围中的另一个，如：

1.He is always ready to help others(= other people). 他总是乐于助人。（he 和 others 为两者 ，即，除了 he ，其他人就是 others，所以，用 other）

2.There are two apples here. One is big ，the other is small. 这儿有两个苹果，一个大，一个小。（ 两个苹果 ，当然是两者，即，除了一个，就是另一个，没有更多的，所以，用了 other ）

3.There are many students on the playground. Look! Some are daning， others are eating. 操场上有许多学生，看，一些在跳，一些在吃。（ many students 分成两个部分来叙述，即，除一部分在 dancing 外，另一部分在 eating，所以 ，用了 other ）

4. The shop is on the other side of the street. 那家商店在街对面。（街道或道路一般有两边——这边和那边，即，对面 ，所以，用了other）

由此，咱这儿之所以用 other ，也是因为除了说的这些个话语，再换另一句或另一些话语 来说。
